It's not the best picture of it, but this drawing also isn't done. I just wanted to be able to give people a sneak peak of it. ^_^ Please leave opinions or suggestions. Thanks folks.

Dang Proportions
Even though the proportions aren't exact, I was doodling and wanted to draw a woman figure but not go so far into all the details, just a basic outline of one. I just like the simplicity of this sketch. :)

Fallible to the Meaning
I do not know what inspired this drawing. However, I want to hear your opinions on what you think it means. What is the message that you see conveyed?
Police Tattoo
My friend wanted me to create a basic sketch of a tattoo he wanted done. This isn't the completed version, but I do not have the design anymore to upload a photo. I'll upload the finished one once I can see it again.
Puzzled with the World
This little guy was just a little doodle I did one day while I was bored and had a sharpie near by. Do you often find yourself standing back and looking at the world and having the same puzzlement? I know I do.
Journey Together Alone
I had been spending HOURS drawing sketch after sketch for an abstract self portrait for my boyfriend. I was struggling immensely. So instead of focusing on his piece I started doodling, this is what resulted of it. For privacy sake I will not be posting his self portrait at this time unless he gives me permission later. However, I felt like this little sketch was important. At the time that this was created many people I knew and myself included had started to take our own paths and live for ourselves. So he was what I called: "Journey Together Alone"

Pomegranate a la Plastic
Plastic Pomegranate...another piece from my 2D class this spring. I was bored in class so I started drawing the swirls that are behind it. I am not very good with Chalk pastels, so forgive me for this one. I am definitely a graphite, charcoal, acrylic paint kind of gal.
Lily's Bear
Teddy Bear on the Beach-it wasn't my best piece from my 2D class this semester, however, I really did enjoy the process in creating it. The only part of it I am satisfied wit is the flower in the bottom right corner. I wanted to start this blog by posting some of what I created in class in comparison to what I do outside of class. So buckle your seat belts...the race is on!
The Start is Not Always Easy
To start a challenge such as a "sketch-a-day" can be very difficult. When the thought first crosses your mind you are extremely gung-ho on the idea. You imagine carrying your sketch book with you where ever you go, creating wonderful sketches of people on the train, that interesting flower you walked past in your neighbor's garden, or even creating your own characters for a comic series. Yet, once the euphoria of the idea settles down you realize just how impossible this task really is. School, work, family, friends, perhaps you have kids, or other distracting obligations. Here's the deal...WE ALL HAVE THEM. I certainly do. I go to school full time at the University of Utah, I am majoring in Art Education:Painting and Drawing, I work as well as run my own design company online, on top of keeping up with my friends or family and dedicating any extra time to my wonderful boyfriend. It gets tiring. Until this summer I realized just how long it had been since I had created a piece that was just for me, not because it was an assignment or commission, just simply a drawing for me. So when the semester ended earlier this spring I made myself a promise that I would do a sketch a day all summer long in order to keep up my creativity and so that I wouldn't lose the skills I had just learned over the past year. I FAILED at drawing EVERY day, but I did draw more often than I thought I would have. I even started drawing some tattoo designs for my friends.
So now I am going to start over, I'll upload all the pictures I've drawn over the summer, give approximate dates as to when they were created and do my best to try this one more time. Even when school starts in 3 weeks.
Though this may be a crazy challenge and one that I will by no means be perfect at, I am willing to take on the challenge. I would LOVE to hear your opinions on the pieces or even requests for future pieces so that I can have some inspiration.
Equipped with my ingredients for creativity(hot chocolate, popcorn, otter pops, and energy drinks) I am ready to begin.
Sincerely,
Skippy
